Mawa Modaks

Food Story :  Mawa Modak are available all over India with different flavours and taste.  You get 150 gms. Mawa from 1 litre of milk.

Ingredients ;

  1. Mawa ½ kg
  2. Sugar ¼ kg.
  3. Milk Powder ½ cup
  4. Badam 2 tbsp.
  5. Pista 2 tbsp.
  6. Cardamom pwd. 1 tbsp.
  7. Warm Milk 2 tsp.
  8. Kesar little

Method :

  1. Grate the Mawa.
  2. Powder the sugar, chop the nuts.
  3. Heat a non stick pan and roast the mawa for 5 mins.
  4. Add milk powder and stir.
  5. Add cardamom powder, bdam, pista and kesar mixed in warm milk.
  6. Remove the mawa in a thali and let it come to room temperature.
  7. Now add the powdered sugar and mix the dough thoroughly.
  8. Keep a little powdered sugar aside.
  9. Take the mould and sprinkle sugar and dust the excess sugar out.
  10. Now make small mawa balls and place them in the moulds.
  11. Keep a grain of cardamom in each modak mould.
  12. Press the mould and remove excess mawa.
  13. I got 52 modaks. i.e. 51 modaks for Bappa and 1 for his rat!
